Six stages, each with something to show for it

When would extra cost arise?
A proposed variation may follow a requested design change, an authorised direction or a site issue that needs assessment. Its treatment depends on the contract and applicable law. Review the reason, supporting evidence, revised scope, cost and timing before agreeing to the affected work. Unexpected conditions do not automatically create an entitlement to extra payment.
